Day 8

Short trip to Gargilesse, "one of the most beautiful villages in France." Walked up the hill to the church of Notre Dame, which had the typical look of so many 12th and 13th century romanesque churches (can't believe I'm saying that), but when we descended

ino the crypt, it was a stunning display of reddish frescoes from the 16th-18th centuries. Thoroughly captivating! Then a rather short walk along The Way--3.8 miles. Lovely cool day and interesting panoramas.
