Well yes, the forest was lovely, except for one thing--ticks! Tim had 2 and I had one! Felt creepy crawly all night long! The fountains were really just ponds, no swimming except for one happy dog out for a walk with its owner from a nearby farm. The forest is 76% oak, 20% beech, and 4% other. As we had learned from posts of other pilgrims, this trail did have quite a lot of asphalt--harder walking, but fewer ticks! Add 7.8 miles to our 1.6 from Thursday. We did justice to La Charite-sur-Loire.

Yikes! This has been a season for ticks for you!
